[cobirds] Black Tern at Barr Lake, Adams county

Today at about 9 am, a surprising species appeared at the Marina., a Black Tern.   Sitting on a white damaged buoy near the dam; viewed with a spotting scope for over 5 minutes and never flew; black tern with long tail and gray on the wings; white vent area; bill was black, thin and fairly short.
Additionally, in the top of the cottonwoods just east of the nesting platform, an Osprey had made a nest and there were 2 juveniles moving about. The upper breasts were a tan color, which Sibley says means they are quite young. No adult was seen. Best viewed from the entrance road.
