[cobirds] Very Large Snow Goose Flock Expands/Weld

Hi all
I visited the CR 69/Hwy 34 energy development pond again on Saturday. Took a series of 16 photos of entire flock--guesstimate ~1,500-2,000 Snow Goose present! Zoomed in on photos did a head count on all 16 photos. Photos at link below. Bald Eagle patiently eyeballing the flock, too.

I did Raptor Alley (bottom half) on Sunday in preparation for this Saturday's trip:
  • Sharp-shinned Hawk (chasing 3 Northern Flicker and Black-billed Magpie)
  • Rough-legged Hawk (first time this fall)
  • Bald Eagle - 4
  • Ferruginous Hawk - 4 (dark morph has returned to usual winter area)
  • Red-tailed Hawk - 5
  • American Kestrel
  • Golden Eagle
  • Prairie Falcon
  • Northern Harrier
Others: Northern Shrike (2), one chasing American Tree Sparrow (6) flock; Common Raven (2)

Thanks, Gary Lefko, Nunn
