Hi all
Great weather for birding. Saturday I did full Raptor Alley tour and saw:
- Prairie Falcon - 5
- Ferruginous Hawk - 3
- Bald Eagle - 4
- Red-tailed Hawk - 11
- American Kestrel - 13
- Rough-legged Hawk - 1
- Golden Eagle - 2
- UNID buteo - 2
Other species: 19 total, highlights include Common Raven (4); two very cooperative, roadside Downy Woodpecker; Lapland Longspur (1).
Sunday I did Windsor Reservoir, Windsor Lake, Cozzens Lake, Crom Lake and Woods Lake. If you want large quantity of birds Windsor Reservoir (new overlook area), Cozzens Lake and Woods Lake have huge numbers geese, gull and waterfowl. I saw about 200+ Snow Goose at Windsor Reservoir and Woods Lake. Must have been about 15 Herring Gull at Windsor Lake and many more at Windsor Reservoir. Crom Lake had a Greater White-fronted Goose.
