[cobirds] Re: Question about Cherry Creek SP Conditions?

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback (privately). I'm leaning toward either taking my students to the Platte in downtown Denver to do the genuine urban nature walk: mallard, pigeon, starling? Or we'll stay local to DU. It doesn't sound like Cherry Creek will be a great fit for us.

Thanks again,

Hi there.

I'm considering bring a small class of DU students to Cherry Creek State Park tomorrow as part of my "Urban Wilds" course experience. Can anyone tell me if (1) there are open, bathroom facilities at the swimming beach and (2) if ducks are visible from the beach with only binoculars? I'm not looking for rarities or anything like that, but the opportunity to look at ducks with some beginner birders. But I don't know if there's a shelf of ice keeping ducks farther out in the water.

Thanks,
