Long-tailed Duck continues to be seen in multiple counties. Search with eBird's Explorer menu in your preferred county

Glaucous-winged Gull (Larimer)
Great Black-backed Gull (Pueblo)

ADAMS COUNTY:

—On Dec 21 a Trumpeter Swan was reported at Barr Lake first  by Ray Graham on the 19th.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:

—On Dec 17 a Tundra Swan was reported at Ketring Park by K Holland on the 17th.

—On Dec 16 a Tundra Swan was reported at Centennial Park by Bez Bezuidenhout on the 16th.


BOULDER COUNTY:

—On Dec 22 a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was reported by Nathan Pieplow on the 15th In pines along Old Tale Road south of Arapahoe, about halfway to McSorley Lane.


DENVER COUNTY:

—On Dec 19 a Black-and-white Warbler was reported at Bluff Lake by Virginia Dickinson on the 19th.


DOUGLAS COUNTY:

—On Dec 22 a Red-necked Grebe was reported at Chatfield SP first reported by Al Guarente on the 21st.

—On Dec 22 a White-winged Scoter was reported at Chatfield SP. First reported by Tony Leukering.

—On Dec 18 a Pacific Loon was reported from the Handicap Fisherman's Platform and probably the same bird that has been seen from the N Boat Ramp. First reported by Tony Leukering on Dec 8th.


FREMONT COUNTY:
—On Dec 22 a Pacific Wren was reported on Riverwalk Bluff Trail west of Raynolds near bench on left side of trail by Brandon Percival on the 21st.

GARFIELD COUNTY:
—On Dec 21 a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was reported in Carbondale by Sue Riffe on the 21st.
—On Dec 21 4 Rusty Blackbirds were reported in Carbondale on the CBC by Jason Gregg on the 21st.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
—On Dec 22 a Red-necked Grebe was reported at Chatfield SP first reported by Al Guarente on the 21st.
—On Dec 22 a Pacific Loon was reported at Chatfield on the Jefferson side of Chatfield Res. First reported Dec 8 by Joey Kellner.

—On Dec 22 a White-winged Scoter was reported at Chatfield SP-N Boat Ramp area. Joey Kellner first reported the bird Nov 29.
—On Dec 22 a male Varied Thrush was seen at a private home near Carmody Park, Lakewood. For details, please see the note Joe Roller posted Dec 14 on Cobirds. Visitors are welcome, with some reasonable guidelines from the homeowner.
—On Dec 22 a Brant was reported on Lake Arbor by Amy Cervene on the 20th. Being seen at Lake Arbor and at Pomona Lake #2 in Meadowglen Park.
—On Dec 20 a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was reported in the Beverly Heights Neighborhood by August Hazel on the 20th.
—On Dec 20 a Pacific Loon was reported on Standly Lake on north shore by Myron Gerhard on the 20th.
—On Dec 20 a Williamson Sapsucker was reported at Lookout Mountain Nature Center by Marcel Such on the 20th.

LAS ANIMAS:
—On Dec 20 a Tundra Swam was reported a Trinidad Res by Tony Godfrey on the 20th.

LARIMER COUNTY:
—On Dec 22 a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was reported from the NW corner of the golf course just south of Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. First reported by David Leatherman. Probably the same individual seen in the cemetery in November.
—On Dec 18 a Gyrfalcon was observed near the Larimer County Landfill in SW Fort Collins. First reported on Nov 3 by Robert Beauchamp. Please post updates to CObirds.

—On Dec 18 a Glaucous-winged Gull was reported at Horseshoe Res by Joe Kipper on the 18th.


LOGAN COUNTY:

—On Dec 21 a Trumpeter Swan was reported at Jumbo Res by Glenn Walbek on the 21st.


MESA COUNTY:

—On Dec 17 a pair of Trumpeter Swans continue at Highline Lake SP. First reported on Dec 5 by Don Marsh.


OTERO COUNTY:

—On Dec 17 a Dunlin was reported at Holbrook Res by Brandon Percival on the 17th.

 

PUEBLO COUNTY:

—On Dec 19 a Dunlin was reported at Pueblo Res South Marina on the tires with the gulls. First reported by Evan Carlson on the 19th.

—On Dec 19 "Murray" the Great Black-backed Gull that has spent the last umpteen winters at Lake Pueblo, was reported again, as was a Glaucous Gull.

 

It's Christmas Bird Count time across Colorado, between Dec 14 & Jan 5.
