[cobirds] The Big Sit! -- Douglas

We Big Sat! for the 14th year, yesterday, at our house. We counted fewer species -- 32 -- than average, ditto individuals (265). We had excellent cookies, Quiche, and coffee cake, though.

The avian  highlight came, believe it or not,
with a common species. Urling and I sat! late yesterday afternoon, and she spotted a flock of crows in a field across Castlewood Canyon Road.  They moved along, flying over each other and perching in trees, sometimes mostly disappearing. Then they started flying up over the house: first a flock of 66, then one of 160, then 15 headed south, then 60 of the 160 headed south, towards Castlewood CanyonS tate Park . Quite a show!

No cranes. No migrating raptors or pelicans.
