[cobirds] Lotsa Loons

Experiencing debate aversion, I went out looning this afternoon with John Vanderpoel.  We could see the Terry Lake Red-throated Loon (Boulder County) by looking toward the south part of the lake from the intersection of 95th St. and Woodland Rd.  It seems to work okay if you park on the east side of 95th just south of the shoulder guard along the small west bay of Terry.  Terry also had at least a dozen Bonaparte’s Gulls, 2 Canvasbacks and 2 Red-breasted Mergansers along with lots of other ducks and grebes.

We continued into Larimer County to Blue Mountain Reservoir where there were growing numbers of regular diving duck species, then Dry Creek Reservoir which hosted about 1,000 waterfowl including one Common Loon and finally Lonetree Reservoir where there was another Common Loon among the many diving ducks and grebes.
