Wilson's Warblers! 46 of them, almost all caught by 8 a.m. Plus 4 Orange-crowned Warblers, 3 Yellow Warblers, and 1 very early young White-crowned Sparrow. We closed all nets by10:30 because of the heat, but we weren't catching anything by then anyway. Still only have about one-third of the station open.
-- This fall, we will be open 6 days a week, weather permitting, through at least October 11. The closed day will be a weekday and will vary depending on when we do not have a school group - the next 2 weeks we are closed on Mondays (9/7 and 9/14). We are opening nets at
6:30, and will run until noon or when it gets too hot. (Given the weather report, it is unlikely we will make it to noon any day this week!)
