[cobirds] WIND at Barr Banding Station, 9/16/15

Not a bird code, but a weather condition.  Blew for the first 2+ hours and then it got hot.  Bird numbers were way down; only banded 25 and recaught 12.  Here's the breakdown of the new:

Downy Woodpecker 1
House Wren 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 3
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 1
Wilson's Warbler 14
Green-tailed Towhee 1
Chipping Sparrow 1
Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 1

Hoping for a return to better conditions tomorrow!

We are open 6 days per week, weather permitting, through Sunday, October 11. Our next closed day is Wednesday, 9/23. We are opening nets at 6:30, and will run until noon or whenever it gets too hot. School groups arrive about 9:30 a.m. most weekdays.
