[cobirds] Ken Caryl Valley (Jefferson) and Eleven Mile & Spinney Mountain Reservoirs (Park)

Sept 22

Early this morning a Marsh Wren was in a patch of cattails off Massey Draw below my home in Ken Caryl Valley for a nifty yard bird. A little later I was surprised to hear and then see 3 Pinyon Jays flying north over the Lyons formation hogback while I was along the Columbine Trail on Ken Caryl Ranch property just east of South Valley Park.

Still later I had an opportunity to stop at Spinney Mountain Reservoir in Park County which remained largely dull for birding except for one Red Phalarope off by itself on the lake. Also three returning Bufflehead (assumed based on none summering there). Over at Eleven Mile Reservoir I found one adult Sabine's Gull in alternate plumage sitting on the lake.
