Gwen Moore called to tell me that as soon as she put down sunflower seeds today at Red Rocks Trading Post, a dozen or more rosy finches appeared, including one Black RF. She noticed a lot of
-- uneaten millet on the ground out there and suggested that better quality seed (black oil sunflower) meant better quality birds, so she advised a 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 ratio of sunflower to millet seeds for now.
Several intrepid souls have been feeding the birds at Red Rocks on a daily basis, and we owe them our gratitude.
They include:
Gwen Moore (twice every week)
Mark Chavez
Peggy Salzer
Greg Pasquariello
Mary Geder,
Ira Sanders
Marilyn Rhodes
Jonelle Balais
Elena Klaver
Cyndy Johnson
Mike Henwood
and if I have left someone out, please remind me and forgive me.
Have you hugged a Red Rocks feeder volunteer lately?
AND I am not sure who if anyone told me they would go there tomorrow, Friday,
so if you planned to go let me know and if you can serve as a backup, ditto.
Thanks, Joe Roller
