The Western Palm Warbler that has been hanging around Colorado College campus the past few days was seen several times today (12/15), as early as 8:40 and as late as 5. The bird has been hanging around in the shrubs on the south side of Barnes Science Hall and the east side of Palmer Hall (sometimes on the south side of Palmer). Its a very shy bird, but patience is well rewarded. The few times I have been watching I have not heard any vocalizations, and it is best found by listening for rustling. It was first seen on Wednesday midday.
Happy Trails,
