[cobirds] Banding (!), CSR, El Paso Co, Thurs

Hey COBirders,

Like CBR, I also had a great day banding at Clear Spring Ranch. Finally a day not fighting the elements. It was cool, calm, dark, and warblers were active from dawn until I closed at noon for the impending weather - but more birds were still arriving then! 54 birds banded,

Highlights included:
First-O-Year Gray Catbird - Ad
FOY Warbling Vireo - Second Year bird, (my earliest at CSR in 12 springs)
FOY Swainson's Thrush -2 Ad

also banded -
Downy Woodpecker, Ad M
House Wren - 2
Brown Thrasher - SY
Hermit Thrush - SY
Yellow-breasted Chat - SY M
Lincoln's Sparrow - 3
Song Sparrow - Return from 2021
N Waterthrush - 2 Ad
Orange-crowned Warbler - 8 - but a lot more were around
MacGillivray's Warbler - 6, 4M, 2F
Com Yellowthroat - 10, 7M, 3F, one return from last fall
Audubon's Yellow-rumped Warbler - AdM
Yellow Warbler 8, 6M, 2F
Wilson's Warbler - 3 AdM

FOY Barn Swallows seen,
a singing Bullock's Oriole
and several other fly-bys.

Now we'll see if I can get out tomorrow - as the forecast is for rain all night and tomorrow morning.

Well that was fun!
