[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report/ Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- May 27, 2024

Happy Memorial Day! Thank you very much to all the persons who have served or are serving in the military. Thanks for your sacrifices for enduring our American Freedoms. We should not take our freedoms for granted.
The banding station had a little bit of bird movement today. I heard that the Headquarters and was hopping with birds as well- a Blackburnian and Hooded Warbler were seen and heard there this morning. Those are special birds for sure!
A few Wilson's and MacGillivray's Warblers paid us a visit which was a pleasant surprise. Eleven bird species captured today including last year's returning male Lazuli Bunting. It is great to see some returning birds.

The banding station will be open tomorrow through Friday Sunrise to @ 11AM. Please stop by and share your sightings on the ranch. Some folks do not post on the Chico Basin Whats app anymore so I don't always hear what birds are on the ranch.
***If wanting to visit Chico Basin, it is open to a limited number of people each day during this month. Please go to the Aiken Audubon Website to register for a morning to visit. There is a daily registration fee.

Have a good Memorial Day!
