[cobirds] Allison Hilf

COBirders,

It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Allison Hilf, a long-time member of the Colorado Birding Community. She was 57.

Allison shared her passion for birds with everyone she met and gave back to the birding community in many, many ways. Allison previously served as a member on the board of Colorado Field Ornithologists. She was also a compiler for the Colorado Rare Bird Alert, a member of Denver Field Ornithologists, the Audubon Society of Greater Denver, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, and participated in the Colorado Breeding Bird Atlas. She was also involved in a bird group devoted to the treatment and care of Avian Ganglioneuritis (PDD).

Allison deeply loved birds, birding, and her friends, and described herself as "a Bird addict: Birder; Parront; and Avian behavior enthusiast." She had a kind and loving heart and the gentlest of souls.

Allison was a lawyer with a degree from Yale Law School and lived in Denver until her death.

She leaves behind her three beloved rescues: Buttons and Aye Aye (both African Gray Parrots) and Pickle (a Quaker Parrot).

We can all remember and honor Allison by doing some of the things that were dear to her heart:

Go birding

Spend some time in nature

Help a friend

Do something good

Drop all negativity today and enjoy LIFE

Donate to a good cause

Love yourself as you would others

Be happy with what you have

Embrace your time on this fragile planet

Advocate and educate for all human rights

Rest in Peace, Allison. You will be missed.
