Visitors:
We made a last minute decision to count today when the day started out sunny. Thank you to Amy and Janet for their willingness to hike up and help today, and although they were not called into action, we appreciate them.
Weather:
Weather was sunny and dry this morning with little cloud cover. Gradually the clouds moved in and storms began to develop in the area. We left the ridge at 1130 MST as it began to rain lightly. Winds were light at the start and became stronger as storms approached.
Raptor Observations:
Migrating raptors were few, but diversity was good. The flight was varied, some birds were close and some far along the western ridge.
Non-raptor Observations:
Many of the usual critters were seen today including deer grazing below, American White Pelicans, Woodhouse's Scrub Jay, and white-throated swifts.
Predictions:
The storm system arriving today is expected to continue into tomorrow, leaving heavy wet snow and beneficial moisture in its wake.
