[cobirds] 2023 Colorado Birding Challenge teams registering

The Colorado Birding Challenge team registration is now open and teams are forming. The challenge offers a fun day of birding during peak spring migration along with an opportunity to support an important Colorado bird conservation effort. May 20th is the official birding challenge date and competitive teams will be fanning out over many Colorado counties to log as many species as they can in a day.

Have other commitments on May 20th? This year CFO has expanded the options available under the non-competing category. Non-competing teams can launch their big day on any day or days in May. Several birding clubs have other avian events scheduled for the 20th. If you are forming a team or participating solo for one of those events, you can also register that team for the birding challenge and get double the impact for your day in the field. And there is no need to be deterred by the word "team". In the non-compete category, you can register as a solo birder, build your eBird lists in your favorite county or counties and raise donations for Pinyon Jay conservation.

You'll find details for the challenge at https://cobirds.org/cobc/ where you can also register. Over the last two years, challenge participants have raised more than $75,000 for conservation of Colorado birds. Please help us create an even bigger pot than last year for Piinyon Jay conservation.
