[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Chico Basin Ranch Banding Report 4/30 and 5/1

We opened our banding station at Chico Basin Ranch yesterday, and much like other banding stations in CO we've been off to a slow start here. Yesterday (4/30) we banded 5 birds, which was among the slowest of days historically out here until today (5/1) when we banded just 3 birds and had 1 recapture. We did, however, get an early Dusky Flycatcher, hopefully a sign of more migratory birds to come. Here are our totals for the past 2 days:

Yesterday:
Hermit Thrush - 1
Lincoln's Sparrow - 1
Yellow-rumped 'Myrtle' Warbler - 2
Orange-crowned Warbler - 1

and today:
Blue Jay - 1
Orange-crowned Warbler - 1
Dusky Flycatcher - 1
American Robin - 1 recapture originally banded 5/6/2019

We are open 3 days per week (Friday - Sunday) through May 30th. Chico Basin Ranch is once again open to the public and visitors are welcome at the banding station, click here for more details on visiting!
