[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Chatfield Banding Station, 5/20/21

Lots of returning birds - 7 of the 21 new birds we caught today had been banded in a prior year.  The oldest was a Yellow Warbler banded in 2014.  Here's the full breakdown:

Downy Woodpecker 1 banded 2020
Black-capped Chickadee 1
House Wren 1
American Robin 1
Gray Catbird 3 new, 1 banded 2018
Yellow Warbler 5 new, 3 banded previously (2014, 15, 17)
American Redstart 2 both banded in 2019
Common Yellowthroat 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Mountain White-crowned Sparrow 1

We are open six days per week (closed Tuesdays) through May 30, weather permitting.  While some COVID related restrictions remain in place there are opportunities most mornings for the public to visit, but reservations are required. Visit https://denveraudubon.org/events/ for more information and to sign-up.  Because each hour-long session is limited to 10 people, we anticipate selling out most mornings, so register soon if you are interested.
