[cobirds] New Bird Walks - The Wild Goose Chase (Boulder County)

Greetings birders!

I am starting a new birding walk in Boulder County starting in 2019. Read below to learn more-

The Wild Goose Chase - Collaborative Birding Adventures
- Every other Saturday morning starting Jan 1, 2019
- Locations throughout Boulder County
- All people interested in seeing, hearing, and puzzling through birds are welcome

The goal of the "The Wild Goose Chase" is to provide a semi-organized place every other Saturday for birders to meet and collaborate on birding together in Boulder County. There are no leaders per se on these walks - I will organize different themes, locations, and focuses for the walks and then we'll all work together to puzzle through what we see and hear. Additionally these walks will highlight some locations that are under-birded or lesser known to try to get out to different areas and see what else is hiding in the county. Each walk will last 1-4 hrs depending on what we are targeting and how many locations we visit. Meet new (or old) birding friends, see great birds, and have a fun time in a relaxed birding atmosphere!

If you are at all interested just show up at the starting place for each day at 7:30 AM. I have listed the January walks below.

JANUARY WALKS

Jan 1, 2019 - New Year, New Birding: Birding Boulder Creek

Meet at North Teller Lakes parking area (Valmont Rd just west of 95th street). We'll walk the White Rocks trail to Boulder Creek, then drive to Boulder Creek @ 75th street and walk the trail there. We may continue on to Boulder Creek at CU east campus if there is any interest.

Jan 15, 2019 - Walkabout at Waneka Lake

Meet at Waneka Lake parking lot (south side of lake). We'll walk around Waneka/Greenlee and maybe head over to Hecla Lake.

Jan 29, 2019 - Lesser known locations series #1: Myers Homestead Trail

Meet at the trailhead parking lot. We'll bird up the trail and see what we find! (Foothills location - weather dependent, dress warm)

Hope to see you out there and if you have ideas for February, questions, etc. feel free to email me at markrminnerlee@gmail.com!

Happy birding-
