[cobirds] Bird Conservancy Banding Report Chico Basin Ranch - 9/28/18

The wind at the station today was not ideal for mist netting, so I had to close most of the nets by mid morning. I banded 32 birds of 6 species. I also had 6 recaptured birds from yesterday, which is more than usual. My personal favorite bird of the day was a Red-breasted Nuthatch, the second of the season.

Here's the summary of newly banded birds for the day:
Ruby-crowned Kinglet: 4
Wilson's Warbler: 20
Red-breasted Nuthatch: 1
Hermit Thrush: 4
Gray Catbird: 2
Spotted Towhee: 1

You are welcome to visit the banding station. I'll be banding through the first week of October and nets will be open 6 days a week (Monday through Saturday). This week I'm opening nets at 6:50 and banding until 11:50 weather permitting.
