At 10 am the previously reported Pacific Loon made his appearance at Valmont Reservoir, but only if you were willing to schlep up a hillside covered in burrs and cactus from the Open Space Headquarters. He was associating with 10 Western Grebes in the extreme eastern end of the reservoir. Also nearby were a pair of Red-necked Grebes; and many Common Megansers with a couple Red-breasted Mergansers mixed in.
