---On October 7 Jonelle Balais and Bruce Cyganowski reported a Sabine's Gull at Cherry Creek SP.  On October 10 Bob Righter reported an imm Sabine's Gull next to the dam on the west side of Cherry Creek SP.
---On October 14 at Cherry Creek SP, Glenn Walbek reported Red-necked Grebe.   On October 18 at Cherry Creek Reservoir, Bob Righter reported 3 loons, one
of which he identified as Common.

BACA COUNTY:
---On October 10 near Pritchett, Jim Dennis reported 10 Sandhill Cranes.  On October 11 Jim Dennis reported 60 Sandhill Cranes near Pritchett.  On October 12 Kathy Carroll reported 60 Sandhill Cranes SW of Pritchett.  On October 12 Jim Dennis reported 30 Sandhill Cranes at Comanche National Grasslands near Pritchett.
---On October 10 near Walsh, Janeal Thompson reported 102 Mountain Plover in a field being drilled with wheat.

---On October 8 Jason St. Pierre reported 2 Slate-colored Fox Sparrows at Oxbow Park and Preserve.
---On October 15 Jason St Pierre reported Red Fox Sparrow in his front yard.  Birders are welcome to try for it at 3508 Earl St in Durango.
On October 16 Susan Allerton reported seeing the Red Fox Sparrow in the St. Pierre yard.  On October 18 Jason St Pierre reported that the
Red Fox Sparrow continues in his yard.

On October 10 in the morning David Wade reported Red Fox Sparrow at Maple and Fishback but around noon Wade reported a different Fox Sparrow a possible intergrade.  On October 11 at Maple and FIshback, David Wade and John Shenot reported Fox Sparrow.
---On October 8 at Arapahoe Bend Natural Area – Rigden Reservoir (Strauss Cabin Lake), Amy Davis reported Black-bellied Plover and Semipalmated Sandpiper.  On October 8 at Arapahoe Bend Naturnal Area, Lori Zabel reported Black-bellied Plover.  On October 11 at Arapahoe Bend NA, Josh Bruening reported Black-bellied Plover.

---On October 14 Tresa Moulton reported 6 WHOOPING CRANES flying at Picket Wire Canyon S of Withers Canyon observed at Window Rock.
---On October 16 at Holbrook Lake, Stan Oswald reported juv Sabine's Gull.

PARK COUNTY:
---On October 8 at Antero Reservoir, John Drummond reported 2 Black-bellied Plovers and American Golden-Plover.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
---On October 9 Brandon Percival reported Long-tailed Jaeger, Sanderling at South Shore Marina, and 2 juv Sabine's Gulls at West Fishing Road.  On October 10 at Pueblo Reservoir, Brandon Percival and John Drummond reported juv Long-tailed Jaeger.  The bird seems to prefer the NE part of the reservoir.  On October 11 at Pueblo Reservoir, Brandon Percival and Richard Bunn reported Long-tailed Jaeger which seemed to be moving around the reservoir.  On October 11 Brandon Percival reported juv Sabine's Gull and Sandhill Cranes in SE part of reservoir.

RIO GRANDE COUNTY:
---On October 13 Dylan Hardy reported 400 Sandhill Cranes at Monte Vista NWR.

WELD COUNTY:
---On October 8  Gene Rutherford reported Eastern Phoebe at Windsor Reservoir.
---On October 15 Gene Rutherford reported Common Tern at Union Reservoir.
---On October 17 at Eaton Cemetery, Steve Mlodinow reported Brewer's Sparrow.
---On October 17 at Stewart's Pond, Steve Mlodinow reported Mute Swan and 5 Pectoral Sandpipers.

DFO Field Trip
The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 21 will be to Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat/Sawhill in Boulder led by Chuck Hundertmark (chundertmark8 AT gmail.com; 303-604-0531)  Meet at 0800 at Cottonwood Marsh parking lot.  Directions:  From northbound US 36 take Foothills Pakrway exit.  Go north 2 miles to Arapahoe Ave, then east to 75th St.  Go north on 75th St past Valmont Rd and railroad tracks.  Turn left at Wildlife Habitat sign.  Follow road west and south to Cottonwood Marsh parking lot.  
   Will wallk 1-2 miles on level ground  Bring binoculars, snacks, and water.  Scopes are useful.  Register online or contact leader.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, October 22 will be to Cherry Creek SP led by Mary Cay Burger (mcburger3 AT juno.com; 720-940-8394).  Meet at 0800 at Pelican Point.
Directions:   Enter east side of Cherry Creek SP via Lehigh off of Parker Road.  Go just past the entrance station and turn left (South) at the first intersection.  The road bends and heads west with the reservoir ahead of you.  Go about ¼ miles, just past the next intersection.  The parking for Pelican Point will be on your left.  State Parks pass or day pass required.  Will carpool from Pelican Point to various stops and walk 1-2 miles.  Bring binoculars, water, snacks , and sunscreen.  Scopes are useful.  Register online or contact leader.
