[cobirds] Reservoir Ridge Natural Area, Fort Collins (Larimer) on 30June2017

I walked the first mile or so of the Reservoir Ridge NA trail starting mid-morning at the Laporte Avenue trailhead parking lot today (6/30).

Highlights included:

Grasshopper Sparrow (at least 5)

Blue Grosbeak (1f)

Bobolink (3-4 males seen poorly from long distance southwest of the trail, making no vocalizations that I could detect)

Dickcissel (at least 5) - in the fields south of the trail and in the plum thickets along the fence line that borders the private hay fields north of the trail.

Common Yellowthroat (2 males)

Vesper Sparrow (1 or 2, in pines just w of the parking lot)

Met John Oliver, who is from CA and currently working at the RMNP Trailridge Road VC.  Dickcissel was a lifer.  Congrats.
