This is late but I didn't have access to a computer yesterday (Wednesday, 25April).
At Tempel Grove on Bent 35Road n of SS w of US287:
Harris's Sparrow (1a, 1i) south of the parking lot near the piles of junk with white-crowns
Broad-winged Hawk (1a, 1i)
Wilson's Warbler (1m)
Orange-crowned Warbler (6-7, mostly feeding in Siberian elm on European elm flea weevil larvae within leaf margin mines)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (1)
Common Yellowthroat (1m)
Gray Catbird? (thought I heard one)
Total of 29 species
At Nee Noshe Reservoir:
Field Sparrow (singing near the south side boat ramp (see image at top)
Peregrine Falcon (1) terrorizing the southeast corner throng of birds
18 species of shorebirds (in southeast corner, including Sanderling (3), Marbled Godwit (40+), Long-billed Curlew (1), Western Sandpiper (15), Semipalmated Sandpiper (150), Least Sandpiper (20+), Long-billed Dowitcher (50+), Willet (50+), Semipalmated Plover (5), and Snowy Plover (2). Please note: the southeastern corner may be inaccessible this coming weekend due to muddy roads IF the rain predicted materializes.
Total of 60 species
For the period of April 16-24 I ended up with 113 species for the mythical Lamar CBC (90% in Prowers) area (which includes Thurston Res but does NOT include Tempel Grove or the Great Plains Reservoirs). After my post on 4/23, I had some cheese with my whine, and feel a lot better. Hopefully the vireos, warblers, buntings, flycatchers, orioles, grosbeaks and tanagers will show up for visitors planning to visit the area in the coming weeks.
