There is a pair of Pygmy Nuthatches working on a nest in Pueblo City Park. They are excavating and bringing material to a cavity in a broken-top cottonwood near the park pond. Only a pair seen so far. No helpers. The species is occasionally present in the park in the non-breeding season, but I don't know of any records of them breeding there or even in Pueblo. The park has a lot of ponderosa pines and spruces, though some have been lost in the wind and precip events of late.
A pair of ospreys continue to work on a nest on a light pole at a ball field in the north part of the park overlooking the river. Downstream, the Carolina Wren continues singing east or Reservoir Rd.
