Denver Field Ornithologists Field Trips
The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, April 29 will be to Jackson Lake Reservoir led by Chuck Hundertmark (chundertmark8 AT gmail.com; 303-604-0531).  Meet at 0730 at Colorado Parks and Wildlife, 6060 N Broadway.  Exit I-25 at 58th ave, go west 2 blocks to Boradway, thennorth 2 blocks to parking lot on right to carpool.   State Parks pass or day pass required.  
    This is an all-day trip so bring lunch, plenty of water, bug spray, and sunscreen.  Scopes will be helpful and remember your mud boots as we may hike through some mud.  Plan to carpool and remain for the full trip.  Register online or contact leader.
  
The next monthly meeting of Denver Field Ornithologists will be on TUESDAY, April 25 at 7 pm  at the Museum of Nature and Science.   Nathan Pieplow will give a talk on the Mystery Owl of Mexico.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, April 30 will be to First Creek at Denver Open Space led by John Breitsch & Patrick O'Driscoll (jbreitsch AT Hotmail.com; 303-588-0552).  This trip is full.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, April 30 will be to MonteVista NWR led to Jill Boice (jill AT booksandcats.net; 303-864-7580).      Meet at Visitor Center at 0800.   
Directions:  6120 S Highway 15, Monte Vista, CO 81144.  From Monte Vista, go east on US 286/160 about 3 miles.  Turn south on S Co Rd 3E and travel about 8.7 miles.  Go wst on W Co rd 6 S to the Visitor Center.  
   Overnight Trip.  Casey Setash, a graduate student at CSU, is tracking Cinnamon teal at MonteVIsta NWR.  Sawy will take us to an area where she is trapping ducks for hands-on-fun.  Then she will take us for a tour of a couple of interesting areas around the refuge that might include areas that are not normally open to the public.  For those arriving in Monte Vista on Saturday, we will probably meet for a late afternoon visit to the refuge, to be determined.  Please try to carpool from Denver.  Contact Jill for Further details.  Register online or contact leader.
