A few new arrivals for me today in Pueblo. Green Heron at Pueblo City
Park, Orange-crowned Warblers (two) at the Olive Marsh, Virginia's
Warbler and Bullock's Oriole, along the Arkansas River, east of Pueblo
Blvd. Other birds along the Arkansas River, east of Pueblo Blvd. were
the singing Carolina Wren, five Black Phoebes, a male Lazuli Bunting,
male Black-chinned Hummingbird, and a Bonaparte's Gull. Yellow-rumped
Warblers were around all the places I went on my walk today, Pueblo
City Park, Olive Marsh, the Arkansas River, east of Pueblo Blvd.
Still a lot of swallows along the River, I didn't notice any swifts.
The weather in the next few days looks good for swallows and maybe
swifts.
At Pueblo Reservoir, five Willet, a Western Sandpiper, and three Least
Sandpiper were the shorebird highlights. No sign of Sunday's
Whimbrel, the last two days.
I haven't heard of any sightings of the Mineral Palace Park
Yellow-throated Warbler since Sunday, when it was last seen in Van
Truan's backyard and got chased away by a male Black-chinned
Hummingbird!
