Yes, I'd check the ten day forecast for each of the towns near where you will be birding and check it again daily
and you'll have a good idea.
We always say, dress in layers. If you will be out of the cars at those two passes, you'll basically need to where ski
clothes - polypropylene under layer, warm middle layer, windproof shell. gloves, warm hat.
Good luck.

Hi Mary,--I'm a MA Audubon member living in Colorado near Boulder; I travel to CapeCod most Septembers.Prepare for anything! This week we are having temps in the 60's and 70's. That could be true when you are here, or we could have a foot of snow. I suggest looking at the weather forecast prior to coming for the period during which you will be here and plan accordingly..Enjoy your trip,Marilyn

We'll begin in Denver and move onto Fort Collins, Walden, Craig, Silverthorne, Gunnison, returning to Denver. Itinerary includes viewing three leks (Greater Sage-Grouse, Sharp-tailed Grouse and Gunnison Sage-Grouse) as well as traveling through some high elevation, such as, Cameron Pass and Loveland Pass.A few years ago, I traveled out to Oklahoma same time of year, and was a bit surprised by cold weather. I understand weather can vary but I want to be prepared as possible. So looking for information on what possible weather we might encounter - temperatures, high and lows, precipitation, icy conditions - and any other helpful advice.Looking forward to visiting Colorado.
