The Harris's Sparrow was present today, around 5:30 pm, same location, between E 23rd and 24th Ave. While watching this bird foraging on the ground, kicking around leaf litter, an accipiter (Coopers or Sharp-shinned) flew in so fast and almost had that sparrow for dinner. After that, it stayed well hidden inside a thick bush. Wise move if it wants to make it another day.
