ADAMS COUNTY:
---On September 9 a Northern Waterthrush was banded by Meredith McBurney at the Barr Lake Banding Station.
---On September 8 a Great Crested Flycatcher was banded by Meredith McBurney at the Barr Lake Banding Station.
---On August 28, Steve Larson reported a f-type MAGNIFICENT HUMMINGBIRD at Margaret's Pond Open Space in Northglenn. This would be a new county record if accepted.
---On August 25, at Barr Lake SP Steve Mlodinow reported Least Flycatcher, Ovenbird, Northern Waterthrush, Tennessee Warbler, and Nashville Warbler. On August 28, at Barr Lake SP near bridge near nature center Patrick O'Driscoll and Karen Drozda reported Northern Waterthrush. On August 30 a Northern Waterthrush was reported by Gregg Goodrich and Anna Troth at Barr Lake.
ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
---On September 6, Gene Rutherford reported 2 McCown's Longspurs at playa on CR 185 (Calboun Byers Rd).
---On September 6, Gene Rutherford and Loch Kilpatrick reported 3 Chestnut-collared Lonspurs at playas on Calhoun Byers Rd.
---On September 2, Cheri Phillips reported Buff-breasted Sandpiper at Quincy Rd and Exmore Road south of Byers. On September 3, Loch Kilpatrick refound the Buff-breasted Sandpiper at Byers Playa (west of CR 181 on Quincy Rd). Many Birders saw the Buff-breasted Sandpiper on September 3. On September 4, Tom Behnfield reported that the Buff-breasted Sandpiper continues at Byers Playa and several birders have seen it. On September 5, Mark Minner-Lee reported Buff-breasted Sandpiper W of CR 181 and N of CR 34 which is not Byers Playa.
---On August 28 at Cherry Creek SP, Gene Rutherford reported f Tennessee Warbler, and f Black-throated Blue Warbler.
---On August 27 a Carolina Wren was reported by Kay Rasmussen in Willow Creek Park in Centennial.

at Warembourgh Open Space which did not sound like Carollina Wren but Bewick's Wren.

CHEYENNE COUNTY:
---On September 3, a Pine Warbler was reported by David Dowel in Cheyenne Wells.

---On September 5 at Mt Evans Groundhog Flat, Austin Schuver reported Nashville Warbler.
---On September 1 at Echo Lake, David Howell reported 11 Barrow's Goldeneyes and f Williamson's Sapsucker.
DENVER COUNTY:
---On August 30 a Nashville Warbler was reported by Doug Kibbe at Bear Creek Park.

---On September 7 a juv Jaerger was reported by Brian Johnson at Chatfield.
---On September 3, Joey Kellner reported a juv LITTLE GULL at Chatfield SP at Plum Creek Delta and Roxburough Cove. It was best seen from Marina Sandsplit. Many Birders got to see the LITTLE GULL on September 3. On September 4, Joey Kellner reported that the LITTLE GULL continues at Chatfield in the same area and many birders have been able to see it. On September 5, Steve Stachowiak reported that the LITTLE GULL continues at Chatfield and many birders saw it.

Denver Field Ornithologists Field Trips:
The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, September 11 will be to Cherry Creek SP Wetlands Loop led by Bill Wuerthele (wuerthel AT ecentral.com; 303-333-2519) Meet at Prairie Loop lot in Cherry Creek Sp. From either park entrance, follow Lake View Rd to the Prairie Loop that is located at the south rim of the reservoir. State Parks pass or day pass required.
This is a half day of walking that passes through most of the important habitats found in the park over a distance of about 3 miles. Trails could be slippery or muddy, so dress accordingly. Bring water and snacks; lunch is optional. Register online or contact leader.
