Hello all,
Several of us saw the Parasitic Jaeger at Jackson Lake SP this afternoon. It was hunting the eastern half of the reservoir. We saw it flying along the dam as well as near the northern shore. A couple times it landed on the water and was completely hidden from view due to the heat shimmer and waves. Congratulations to Lynne Miller for whom this was state bird #400!
We also had 5 distant swallows of unknown species and one Snowy Egret.
good birding,
Doug Faulkner
