[cobirds] Mountain Plovers , El Paso County

CO birders .

I had my FOY Mountain Plovers this morning in the field south of the intersection of Ellicott Highway and Squirrel Creek Road , eastern El Paso county . They were a pair with the male showing courtship behaviour , calling and doing single wing flips over his back . The field is not a prairie dog colony but a heavily grazed cattle pasture , in fact cattle are still in this field . This field was also used last year by Mountain Plovers , perhaps the same pair .
