A quick foray to Walden Ponds in Boulder County today produced a wonderful array of ducks. I had my 4th grader neighbor in tow, a young birder in the making! We were treated to:
-- Common Merganser
Common Goldeneye
Northern Shoveler
Red Heads
Ring-Necks
American Widgeon
Cinnamon Teal
Green-winged Teal
Mallard
Gadwall
Canada Goose
Ring-billed Gulls
Red-tail Hawk
Coming home, one lone male Hooded Merganser was swimming in Dodd's Lake at Niwot Road and N 73rd.
