[cobirds] Roaring Fork birds (Garfield/Eagle)

Hi all

The  HARRIS’S SPARROW  is still visiting our backyard.. tho’ very elusive now.. It is molting rapidly, and singing most days. Today I only heard him and ne’er clapped eyes on him. Yesterday I only saw him 2x all day – and very briefly each time at that. PINYON JAYS are still visiting several times a day. Nearby a COMMON LOON in alternate plumage is pretty much the only bird on Blue Lake, El Jebel, (Eagle Cty) for its second day. There’s a couple of Canada Geese, otherwise nada.. an amazing fall from grace. That pond used to be stuffed with ducks, especially divers, and now it’s empty as can be most of the time.

Spring Park reservoir (Eagle Cty) yesterday had at least one YELLOWLEGS species, and at least one DOWITCHER species.. but the heat haze was to bad to identify either from the public viewing (roadside!).  Also still a few BARROW’S GOLDENEYES there amongst a few hundred ducks

Back home, BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRDS have been visiting since Saturday..

Good birding all
