[cobirds] cranes, etc.

Hello, Birders.

Here's a nice article, in "Steamboat Today," on waiting and watching for Sandhill Cranes in Routt County:

Oh, and I heard a Sandhill Crane in Boulder County! Sort of. Back on Wednesday, April 2nd, David Gillilan and I heard a remarkably talented European Starling at South Teller Farms; the bird was imitating, among other things, the bugling of a Sandhill Crane. David Sibley tells me that that talented starling was still there, and still mimicking other birds, yesterday, Friday, April 4th.

To the north, near Teller Lake No. 5, the Golden-crowned Sparrow was hanging on at the usual spot yesterday. It was with White-crowns, one of which was a white-lored x dark-lored hybrid that David S. photo-documented. Also Great-tailed Grackles and FOS Turkey Vulture and Cliff Swallow. And western chorus frogs galore.
