Finally, yesterday 12/14, I had a male redpoll. He was in my hedge/bush for
a few minutes, flew to the platform feeder (sunflower-thistle-standard
birdseed mix), was there less than a minute, went back to the hedge, and was
gone in another minute.
Today there was a female, almost in the same hedge spot, and with a less
than 20 second feeder visit then disappeared.
If we see one, do we qualify as poll watchers?
One of my three spotted towhees (male) is still here.
Last week a Cooper's hawk killed a male red-sh flicker on the ground under
the feeder, then took off at a 35 degree angle without any apparent effort.
