Re: [cobirds] Wood Duck, west Boulder Creek

I pretty regularly see a wood duck at the west end of Boulder Creek. If gulls and geese are said to be loafing, would this be called slumming?

I acknowledge that I live in the territory of Hinóno'éí (Arapaho), Cheyenne and Ute Nations, according to the 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie, and that Colorado's Front Range is home to many Native peoples. Looking more closely at 3 "Mallards" in Boulder Creek just west of Eben Fine park, I was surprised to see that one of them was actually a male Wood Duck, a species I'd never seen in this end of the creek before.  I rarely see Mallards in the creek west of 6th St., but a pair has been around for the last week, maybe looking for a nesting site.
