[cobirds] DFO field trip registration evolution

Dear CoBirders,

The Denver Field Ornithologists' Field Trip registration is evolving.

DFO's field trip page now shows all field trips for 8 weeks ahead of the current date. When leaders add new trips for dates sooner than 8 weeks, they will appear in the line up whenever they are ready. So check the web page often to see what new trips are coming up. Then plan to register for the trips you are interested in when they become available..

Registration now opens for each trip one-at-a-time at three weeks (21 days) before the trip date. The registration opening date is shown in red with the tip on the web page, as here:

At present we are adjusting our programming for the time of day that trips open for registration, with a goal for trips to become available near noon on their opening date.

These changes give you a longer look ahead at the great trips DFO is planning, so you can plan. And it allows you to sign up for the trips that have special interest for you, with less competition to do so before new trips fill up.

DFO's great leaders offer field trips all the time - DFO averaged one field trip every two days in January and February! - and we go all over Colorado. DFO field trips are free and open to all, allowing for a mileage reimbursement to drivers, when appropriate.
