[cobirds] Dark phase snow goose, Arapahoe county

I live at Columbine lakes townhouses on the top of three Lakes/ponds. There are flocks of migrating geese coming through at this time (although I've always had a large number of geese throughout the winter with numbers up to 450 on the ponds.)

Today I have a dark phase Snow goose that came in with one of the flocks. I had difficulty getting pictures of the bird because of the winds and the snow. I'll try to get another one later.

He was dark gray with white edges of the primaries and secondaries. He had beautiful light blue coverts when he flew. His head was white with a thin black line on the top of his head the top of his neck is white with gray coming up partway. Legs are pinkish. His bill has a black edging that you see on Snow geese.

I have been having six hooded mergansers on the upper pond for a couple of weeks now. There's always a few cackling geese that come through my greedy. There are regular shufflers and occasionally common mergansers.
Please feel free to laugh at my pictures at will.
