Yesterday I covered the southwest section of Greeley CBC. Along CR 396 SW out of Lasalle I was treated to seven Common Redpoll which allowed closeup photos. They were feeding on wild sunflower heads alongside road. Pretty cold on CBC but sun brought out birds. This area seems prime birding habitat, I have not really birded this area previously ... South Platte River, multiple streams with roads paralleling.
