Re: [cobirds] Loveland CBC summary

So sorry I couldn't participate (work).  What's going on with catbirds, so interesting! We had one at the Rawhide CBC.  I hope to be able to come back next year.

Loveland CBC was held Tuesday Jan 4, 2022 (postponed from Jan 1 due to a winter storm warning) for the 22nd consecutive year. The weather was better but still challenging with strong winds in certain areas that inhibited bird activity. Despite this, the 64 participants tallied a record 113 species. Only one species was new for the circle- a remarkable Solitary Sandpiper found in a restricted city-owned property along the Big Thomson River. Other unusual birds included Peregrine Falcon (Second occurrence) and Glaucous-winged Gull, Say's Phoebe, Gray Catbird and Lincoln's Sparrow (third occurrences each). Many thanks to all involved.
