[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Banding Report, September 19

Felt a little like a turning point today - first day this season with no new Wilson's Warblers (a bunch of recaps from earlier in the season) and our first real flock (a net-full as opposed to one or two here and there) of Yellow-rumped Warblers.  I'm relatively certain there will still be some Wilson's, as we usually catch them through the end of the season, but we are at 607 and there are only 2 years in the past 15 when we have been over that.

Overall a quiet day; we  banded only 36 new birds:

Western Wood-pewee 1

Red-breasted Nuthatch 2

Gray Catbird 1

Orange-crowned Warbler 3

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 17

Spotted Towhee 1

Chipping Sparrow 1

Song Sparrow 2

Lincoln's Sparrow 7

Mountain White-crowned Sparrow 1

If you'd like to visit: Due to restrictions related to Covid-19, we are 

requiring visitors to make a reservation and we will have only 6 visitors 

at the station at a time. We are doing three one-hour time slots, from 8-9, 

9-10, and 10-11, on Tuesdays and then Thursdays through Sundays, through 

October 11. There is a $5 per person fee; scholarships are available to 

those unable to pay. All visitors, staff and volunteers will be wearing 

masks and people will be expected to socially distance. To register and for
