Learning more as Joe proposes is a good first step. An important question might be what is the hierarchy of rights on the ranch? Does CPW own the land or lease it? What is the history of grazing rights? This is an area where we need to tread carefully before getting at odds with other users. Generally, hunting and/or fishing are the primary purposes for which SWAs are established. Tamarack Ranch is one SWA where wildlife watching is promoted as an additional public use. CPW is to be appreciated for welcoming birders to that beautiful piece of wildlife habitat.

Grazing at Tamarack Ranch is a perfect topic for Roundtable, and I will not wait for a subsequent meeting, but will try to make contact soon to learn more about the issue and try to have some input. Follow-up will follow if I manage to follow through.
