CPW set up a channel for communication with birders and other naturalists a couple of years ago,
the "CPW Roundtable" Many birding organizations attend, but in my personal opinion, CPW has
never been in the listening mode, but rather uses the group as a conduit for information from CPW. And with turnover of CPW leadership, Roundtable meetings are on hold, as I understand it.
Grazing at Tamarack Ranch is a perfect topic for Roundtable, and I will not wait for a subsequent meeting, but will try to make contact soon to learn more about the issue and try to have some input. Follow-up will follow if I manage to follow through.

Steve, thanks for bringing this up; even if rotational grazing is in the conservation plan for the ranch, perhaps CPW would be open to restricting grazing in areas that are important to these birds and others? A phone call or a letter from our ornithological societies might go a long way in getting a change made in these practices..??
All the best, Matt Rodgers
