[cobirds] E. Phoebe, N. Waterthrush, El Paso Co. (and Fountain Creek Annual Spring Count, May 11)

COBirders,

This afternoon, an Eastern Phoebe was along Bear Creek. It was 1.14 km upstream from the Bear Creek Nature Center at the spring (or leak?) just below the large green utilities water tank.

This AM, Tyler Stuart and I had a N. Waterthrush at Rock Ledge Ranch. There is really nice habitat with undergrowth, springs, and riparian corridors.

Then this coming Saturday, May 11, is the annual spring bird count at Fountain Creek Regional Park. Please feel free to join us. We’ll have about 5-6 teams in different parts of the park. Past counts have had some great birds. Please email me if you would like to participate. SGetty@ColoradoCollege.edu

Cordially,

Steve Getty, Colorado Springs, CO
