I saw a black tern in a marshy pasture 100 yards north of the bridge over the Arkansas on CR 166 near Salida on Friday 5/24, and one at Franz Lake on in Salida on both 5/24 and 5/25.

Hi Everyone,
Today 5/25 I visited some local spots around Longmont. First I went to Pella
Crossing. There were plenty of migrants: Clay-colored Sparrow, Swainson's
Thrush, Plumbeous Vireo, (presumed) Willow Flycatcher, Least Flycatcher. A
Broad-winged Hawk circling overhead was a surprise. Lagerman Reservoir still
has some Red-necked Phalaropes, and there was an Eastern Kingbird in place
of last week's Western and Cassin's. Two Common Goldeneye seemed late in
departing. Late in the day I went to Walden Ponds, where Edith Israel's
Lewis's Woodpecker was still in the unhealthy cottonwood at the first
residence on the right on Walden Ponds Road. The bird was visible from the
road, but eventually flew north out of view.

Tomorrow is our last weekend day of the season; registration is required
for all weekend visitors; see the Denver Audubon website to sign up. Please
remember we will be closed on Monday, Memorial Day. We will then be open
Tuesday through Friday of next week. We have organized groups coming our
early Tuesday-Thursday but no school groups later in the morning. We are
opening nets at 6:30, and most days have birds back at the station by 7:15.
We aim to close by noon most days, earlier if it is very hot, very cold, or
very windy.

About an hour ago we had a chestnut sided warbler at the eastern end of
song bird trail working its way up the river. Will post pics to ebird
checklist tonight. Initial assessment is that it's a female based on
markings. Wasn't making any sound. Just looked at the right spot at the
right time!

The Hermit continues to forage through bushes and trees at the 17th-street
bridge over Boulder Creek, just north and downhill from CU's Mackey
Auditorium.
A few hundred yards further east along the creek, the male Magnolia also
continues. The Magnolia was immediately above the creek in the area we used
to call "Warbler Woods", below the CU rec center and across the creek from
the brick university family housing.

most photographed bird in Boulder today. Many passersby were caught up in
the excitement and took photos with their phones and pocket cameras.

The Red-bellied Woodpecker that has been in Pueblo, since October, is still
west of the Pueblo Nature Center, along the Arkansas River in Pueblo
County, this morning (25 May). There are still many mountain breeding
species in Pueblo today, which sometimes by late May, they are mostly gone
from Pueblo. Wilson's Warblers, Audubon's (Yellow-rumped), MacGillivray's
Warblers, Plumbeous Vireo, Olive-sided Flycatcher, Western Tanagers,
White-crowned and Lincoln's Sparrow, to name a few. I ended up with 61
species of birds at the Pueblo Nature Center area this morning. At the
Pueblo West Gravel Pit pond (between the Nature Center and Osprey Picnic
Area), a Red-necked Phalarope continues and there was also a Great Egret,
two Snowy Egrets were west of the Pueblo Nature Center this morning.

This bird was observed under the hopper feeder almost every day since 5/21, including today when it was sitting in the grass in the middle of the backyard. It often is feeding with a Mourning Dove or Eurasian Collared-dove. There were two of them present on one day.
