[cobirds] American Redstart in San Juan County

Hello Colorado Birders:

Reporting from the great unknown that is San Juan County ( the highest mean elevation in the United States), I am happy to share that I came across an American Restart this morning.

As I was wrapping up my stimulating session at the bubbling sewage ponds at the south end of Silverton, I glanced to the southeast and noticed a small bird flitting in the willows along Meadow Creek. In the bins, I could see its spastic foraging technique, grayish-olive back and bold yellow patches on the sides of the breast and either side of its long tail. I dashed for my camera after recognition and was never able to relocate the bird.

Happy Spring,
Eric
