[cobirds] Walker & McClain Pits, Douglas (one CITE)

The Walker and McClain gravel pits west of Franktown both have patches of open water. Walker, especially, has good smattering of duck species -- both divers (Com. Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked, Redhead, Com. Merganser) and dabblers (Mallard, Am. Wigeon, Gadwall, Green-winged Teal). With a scope you can enjoy their antics & plumage.
This morning a newby joined the crowd: one bright, rusty, Cinnamon Teal.
The trail south from Walker has only the usual species that we expect, and the ducks we saw last week probably moved to the gravel pit.
And, of course lots of Canada Geese.

Hugh
