Cobirders,
-- Today, and for the last few days, there's been a male Common Goldeneye x Hooded Merganser Hybrid on Lollipop Lake in Garland Park/Denver Co. See photos below.
It is usually in the company of 30+ Hooded Mergansers, and I've seen it displaying along with the male hoodies.
The extensive white on the scapulars is consistent with a Common Goldeneye parent but not a Barrow's.
Garland Park is located in east Denver by Cherry Creek and South Holly St., about a mile south of Alameda.
Cheers,
Philip Pratt
